Transfer Season: Denilson, Hazard and Super Chris Samba?

Yep. It's that time of year again. For the next two or so months the transfer rumours will be well and truly flying. Some absurd, some truthful and some that make you stupidly excited (I'm thinking Karim Benzema here). I'm going to look at some of the transfer stories doing the rounds the past few days including one that is looking increasingly likely.

So that's where I'll start, Christopher Samba of Blackburn Rovers. Late last week rumours were growing that we had made a bid of around £8million for Samba (One source being @northbanklower on twitter) and some were even saying he had been spotted at London Colney today. What do I make of the signing? I see good points to it, and bad points. On the positive side, he'll defend and be a threat from set pieces, he'll scare the rest of the team witless and will have a voice. On the negative side, he isn't the most mobile of players and I can see him struggling with the high line we play. He'd be a risk I reckon, but it might be exactly the sort of risk we need to start taking. It'd also make for some excellent commentary though...

Here's Nasri, still Nasri, looks for SAAAAMBAAAAAAAAA
Who's the hero? Is he Congolese or Argentine?
It's SAMBAAAAA. For emergencies only!

I look forward to many memorable SAMBAAAA moments...

In other news, it looks as though Sevilla are lining up an £8million bid for our star midfielder, Denilson. I'm not going to slate Denilson too much as I don't agree with it. He can't be THAT bad a player if a club are willing to pay that sum of money for him. However, we should bite Sevilla's hand off if true. £8million can go towards new players and to be completely honest, not too many will be disappointed to see the back of Denilson. It's been fun alright, but goodbye!

Now, probably the most wanted man in Europe right now (besides Nicklas Bendtner of course). Eden Hazard. The Lille president has said this regarding the player "Eden is not available for transfer. The decision is that it he will not be sold for any price." (via @theinsider9 on twitter). Sadly, as much as most Arsenal fans want him and as good a player he is, I can't see us or anyone else getting him. Why would he leave a club that are champions and guranteed champions league football next year for us, liverpool or tottenham. Sorry, Hazard wants to join a big club. Just us or Liverpool then. However, if we make a good enough offer I can see Lille struggling to refuse and Eden might be tempted to join the best league in the world. You never know, he could be wearing the red and white next year (and the erm light blue...)

Also, it looks as though Andrey Arshavin has pledged his immediate future to the club (seen here). I personally am thrilled at this news. I know Arshavin can be lazy and mediocre at times but when he is on form, he is up there with the best in the league. Wenger has to help him reach this form at regular periods and if he does this, Arshavin will be vital to us next year. Now we just need Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas to make similar statements. Sign the contract Samir and stay with us Cesc. Simple.

That will do for today. I haven't seen many transfer rumours around recently but I'm sure once the window opens in a few days time, we'll be flooded with transfer stories. I can't wait

LOVE the idea of Arshavin sticking around the Emirates. I've also been a defender of him (while also screaming at him through the TV at least 429 times this season). No matter what you say about him...he almost always finds himself in great positions. Is the Win vs. Barca not the best moment of the season? Boom.

Completely agree mate. He is an incredibly frustrating player but only because we all know how good he can be.
